Don't believe the hype.
This book doesn't deserve 4 stars, reading the other reviews, the reviews seem more critical then the star ratings people are giving it. The other reviews raise very good points about plot and settings being directive of other movies and books, and sometimes the writing is bordering on cheesy.
The characters are pretty thin, the Vampires are pretty gross and the head vampire, most powerful of them all, is for some reason that's not explained, hard to look at, very powerful, but able to be threatened by an elderly man with a heart condition, a infectious disease expert, and a pest controller who specializes in rats.
I'm impressed I listened to the whole audio book as I phased out quite a bit.
